I am not sure where this very unusual tribal wood carving hails from.
I'm thinking Africa possibly Dogon or Tabwa?. If anyone has any further information it would be gratefully received.
Nonetheless it is a very intriguing carving... a person smoking a pipe sat upon a horse, with another figure apparently jumping up and covering the horse's eyes. At first I thought this figure was a monkey but again I'm not sure.
The arms of the jumping figure have been repaired in the past, otherwise it is in very good condition.
